The Village Elctric Utility is a municipal utility that provides electric power to its residents and businesses. This is accomplished by a two man operation that not only maintains the distribution system, including all poles, transformers, and wire, but that over the years has constructed and improved most of the system that we see today. A municipal electric system is unique in a sense as the residents and businesses not only are served by the electric system, but are also owners of the electric utility.
The above is accomplished through a 134 member electric cooperative known as AMP-Partners. AMP-Partners is part electric broker and part service provider. As an electric broker, they provide each municipal member with power collected through long and short term contracts negotiated on the nation's electric market. As a service provider, AMP-Ohio has allowed its members to be owners of AMPCT, AFEC, OMEGA JV2 and JV5, HYDRO PHASE 1, and PSE, all of which are called "projects". The following is a description of the projects to which Woodville belongs:

Currently Woodville's system is based on a 69kV Substation located at the Utilities Building constructed in 2001. At this substation, the 69k Voltage is reduced to 4160 volts onto our distribution system. The power is reduced to the 120 volts supplying the typical home with energy. We can also supply businesses with three phase service if needed.
In addition, Woodville has an onsite Solar Array that is capable of producing 790kW of electricity. This solar arrangement is directly connected to the Village's electric grid. The following link provides real-time production to view with interesting facts on the green footprint of our system.
